Future flesh forms - Gertrude Street Projection Festival 2017
Future Flesh Forms
2017
Animated video projection
4 minutes 46 seconds
This video piece was projected onto the facade of a building as part of the Gertrude St Projection Festival 2017.
"Future Flesh Forms is an exploration of how technology and living tissue interact and how this interaction challenges ideas of human form. 3D printing of living tissue, as well as bio-hybrid robots (the marrying of robots with tissue engineering), opens the door to a future of living structures created and designed by humans. What could this future look like? Through playful exploration of organic and architectural forms, and the use of 3D animation, “Future Flesh Forms” is a rendering of where these technologies could take us."
I used 3D scanning as well as costuming to create distorted 3D models of myself that I then animated.
